SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — For generations, hunting has been about far more than simply pursuing an animal. It has been about early mornings, cold hands, campfires, long walks through the woods and, most importantly, the people sitting beside us.
A new documentary, Borrowed Time, captures that spirit and reminds us of something many of us have forgotten in today’s fast-paced world: our time together is never guaranteed.
The documentary will have its premiere on Friday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Shippenville, Pennsylvania. The event is free and open to the public.
At its heart, Borrowed Time is a hunting story. But it is also so much more.
It is a look back at the “old days” of hunting — a time when the trophy wasn’t always measured by inches of antler, and some of the most treasured memories were made simply by sitting together in the woods.
It is a story about fathers and sons, about time passing, and about the realization that the people we share those moments with won’t always be there.
And sometimes, life gives us another chance.
Borrowed Time follows a deeply personal hunting season centered around a father and son and a 79-year-old father pursuing what would become the biggest buck of his life. But beneath the hunt is a much bigger message: Don’t wait. Don’t take the next season, the next hunt, or the next opportunity to make a
memory for granted.
For anyone who grew up hunting with a father, grandfather, brother, friend or child, the story will likely feel familiar. It is a reminder of a simpler time — when getting into the woods together was often more important than what happened once you got there.
“Some of the greatest memories we have from hunting have very little to do with the animals we pursued,” says Jason Say, creator of Borrowed Time. “They are about the people we shared those days with. Those are the moments we wish we could go back and experience one more time.”
The premiere is intended to be more than simply the first showing of a hunting film. It is an opportunity for hunters, families and friends to come together, reflect on the people who helped shape their lives, and perhaps walk away with a renewed appreciation for the time they have left to make memories.

Borrowed Time was produced by Garrett Heath of Okiejoke Media, whose storytelling and production work helped bring this deeply personal story to life. Heath worked alongside the All In Outdoors team to capture not only the excitement and emotion of the hunt, but also the moments between the hunts — the conversations, memories and relationships that ultimately make the story about so much more than a deer.
