On August 2, nature lovers can explore beautiful views, unique wildlife, and fascinating geology in the Clarion and Allegheny River areas—right here at home.

This immersive experience will take participants on long, physically demanding hikes through steep, muddy, and off-trail terrain. Led by knowledgeable guides, the journey will highlight:

  • Towering conglomerate boulders
  • Scenic overlooks
  • Rock outcrops
  • Sightings of herpetofauna (reptiles and amphibians)
  • Sites of historic and archaeological interest

The group will depart promptly from the Park Office and carpool potentially dozens of miles to reach these remote destinations. Participants must be in excellent physical condition to safely complete the hike.
