COOKSBURG, Pa. – The annual Cook Forest Easter Sunrise Service will celebrate its 68th anniversary on April 1.
Started in 1950 by Verna Leith, the Tri-County Men’s Club, and the Leeper Women’s Club, the inter-denominational service has kept its same format at the Circle Campground in Cook Forest State Park with a musical prelude at 6:30 a.m. followed by the service at 7:00 a.m.
The invocation and scripture will be presented by Rev. Boyd Edmonson, and the message will be presented by Rev. Bruce Wilson.
The prelude will be played by Miranda Loll, who has been playing the piano for more than 20 years and enjoys giving private music lessons, playing for weddings, fundraisers, and other benefits.
This will be Loll’s 14th year playing for the Sunrise Service.
The soloist will be Lauren Snyder.
The other singers will be Danny and Shawna Feliciano; they are originally from New York City but have lived in Clarion since 1999. They are worship leaders for Epicenter located on Greenville Pike in Clarion and love being able to worship the Lord in song together.
