“The first is of a mother bear just coming out of hibernation. According to the postcard, she “took her own picture.” There is no date on the card, but based on other cards that I found in my mother’s possessions, I think it is probably from the late 1920’s or early 1930’s. The second postcard that I have is one of a virgin White Pine. This would be from around the same time as the other one. They are black and white photographs taken by Lewis & Strong, Reynoldsville PA.”
