I’ll give it this – the scenery is beautiful & being right on the river is nice. The employees were nice and check in was easy! But – for $180 a night, it’s not worth it. Take your money and get a nicer cabin elsewhere and take a drive to the river. We stayed in Cabin 4 from 8/22 – 8/24. Actually, we left early… We left Sunday night (the night before we had to check out because the beds were that bad!!!) It has the worst furniture – the worst mattresses. The couch, if you can call it that, is sagging and from the 70’s. The chair, the same. There is no sitting inside on these things for more than a minute to maybe put on shoes. Beds… what a joke! Worse than a pull out couch bed. And mind you -they’re full size. They feel like a trampoline. The kitchen is super small, but whatever… But come on, care enough to at least put the fridge doors on the correct way so you can get in and out of it. Windows must not be opened often – really hard on some of them and at least a hundred nasty bugs, webs, etc. clinging to them (kitchen). (yeah, I know I’m in the forest, but come on, wipe things down once in a while. Porch was nice, but too small to really sit out there. The lighting fixtures (if they worked) didn’t have shades on most of them. Just bare bulbs. The lights that did have shades were all mismatched lights -even the ones on the walls. It’s like they decorated these things with anything left over and never came back to update 30 years later. It’s sad – they could be so much nicer with just a little bit of money. They did give you wood, which is convenient. It’s nice to be right by the store too. But – $180 a night worth it, absolutely not. I’ve stayed in plenty of cabins before, at less cost and around the same cost, and they all beat out this cabin times 1000. There are no amenities at Macbeth’s Cabins. There is a joke of a setup for kids to play (sort of a playground) but old and full of splinters. No pool. No activities like at some campgrounds. So disappointed that we paid this amount and then didn’t even stay the 2nd night because it was so bad. And, there was no one to even contact when we left. No emergency contacts, info, etc. We left the key in the mailbox up front – no one cared, etc.
