HAWTHORN, Pa. (EYT) — For 87 years, the Clarion County Fair has brought the community together for a celebration of local heritage and summertime joy.
This year, from July 20 through 26, families and fairgoers of all ages gather at Redbank Valley Municipal Park in Fairmount City for a week filled with fun, tradition, and small-town charm.
A Proud History of Community & Celebration
The fair began in 1938 as the Farmers and Merchants Picnic, a one-day event that united local merchants and farmers. With balloon-blowing contests, potato races, and a greased pig chase, it welcomed over 5,000 guests its first year. By 1969, it had grown into a full-fledged fair and was officially renamed the Clarion County Fair. Today, it continues to honor the area’s agricultural roots and strong community spirit.
