COOK FOREST, Pa. — On June 1, young anglers will have a chance to reel in some big catches during the much-anticipated Children’s Fishing Derby at Cook Forest State Park in Cooksburg.
From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., children 12 years and under can cast their lines in the freshly stocked waters of Tom’s Run, stretching from the Swinging Bridge to the Children’s Fishing Pond.
This fun-filled event, sponsored by the Marienville Rod & Gun Club, PA Fish & Boat Commission, Cook Forest Vacation Bureau, and Cook Forest State Park, is designed to introduce kids to the joys of fishing in a beautiful natural setting. Families can enjoy quality time outdoors while youngsters experience the thrill of their first catch.
Registration and prize giveaways will take place at the Children’s Fishing Pond behind the Park Office, where lucky participants have a chance to win exciting prizes generously donated by area merchants.
With expert anglers on hand to assist and encourage, this derby promises an unforgettable experience for children of all skill levels. Whether they are first-time fishers or seasoned young anglers, all are welcome to join in the fun.
