The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a flood warning for the Clarion River at Cooksburg.
The Flood Warning for the Clarion River At Cooksburg remains in effect from this morning until this afternoon, or until the warning is cancelled.
Runoff from heavy rain yesterday continues to cause a strong rise on the Clarion River, and will cause the river to briefly go above flood stage at Cooksburg.
At 5:00 a.m. Friday the stage was 12.7 feet. Flood stage is 13.0 feet. Minor flooding is forecast.
Forecast: The river will rise above flood stage by this morning and continue to rise to near 13.1 feet by this morning. The river will fall below flood stage by late this morning.
Impact: At 13.0 feet, Macbeth Cabins flood and water reaches River Road near the State Park office.
SAFETY MESSAGE: Do not drive through flooded areas. The water may be deeper than it appears.
