  Forest Friends: Reader Snapshots

From Rick and Donna:

"I just received the latest Cook Forest update on my e-mail and thought I would drop you a note about an incredible experience my boyfriend and I had last spring at Seneca Point.

It happened to be a fairly warm weekend in late March, so we decided to take off to our camp which is located about 15 miles from Cook Forest near Tionesta. Saturday morning after breakfast we decided to take a ride to the Forest to get some winter pictures before spring arrived. To our delighted surprise, when we reached the outlook at Seneca Point, there were 9 Falcons riding the currents up and down the valley.

Just as we crossed the bridge here came 4 of the falcons about 5 feet over our heads. As we headed across the rocks to the fence, the other 5 rode a current up from the other side, and appeared to look right at us. We had a great opportunity to watch the Falcons with some other visitors for nearly 10 minutes.

Yes, we also somehow made it into the Forest when the Mountain Laurel were in full bloom. What an amazing and beautiful sight the forest is when the Mountain Laurel are in full bloom."
